I am quite happy in the last two days, realizing that my mother and me, have been vegetarian for about 8 years after receiving so many blessings from You, and we didn't need to eat any meat during the newly celebrated New Year, which sometimes reminds me how poor the animals to entertain us in most of the celebrations of any 'Happy Day' of mankind. Despite of my stupidity, laziness and shakeable faith and devotion, I am offering my body, speech and mind to You. Happy Birthday, and wish You live long in great health.

I wish you happiness on your birthday and every day - may they be very many! It was Kyabje Thuksey Rinpoche whose words, in Andrew Harvey's Journey in Ladakh, which I borrowed from the travel section in the public library in Pershore, Worcestershire, England, in 1989, which first alerted me to the possibility that I have Buddha nature - and of course, in that book, I first met you. He said: "It is not a question of becoming, it is a question of uncovering what you really are, of letting yourself be yourself, of letting all that is not yourself fall away...The Face of the Buddha of Compassion is your real face. But to see your real face you must be very calm, you must forget all your other faces, you must be fearless...To understand that even despair at oneself can be a deception, perhaps the most dangerous, and to discover an inner power, that is completely good and gentle, is frightening; it robs us of every comfort, every safety in resignation or irony.' I still think these are some of the most beautiful words I have ever read - and the wonder was, I even believed them. Something in me knew they were true. He also showed me the value and necessity of the teacher. In fact, I longed to meet him - but learned that he had passed away. At the time I was deeply depressed, and addicted to alcohol. So this is a long and deep thank you to you both, and for all your delightful and inspiring teachings in London. You have been so generous to us. Please do come again and again!
